Definitely one of the most entertaining fish you can put in an aquarium. It perches in different areas, and it watches everything going on inside and outside of the tank. The unique eyes of this fish almost give this fish a cartoon-like personality. The eyes seem to act independently, and they remind me of a chameleon. It doesn't swim around like other fish because it lacks a swim bladder (doesn't just float like other fish), but watching it swim is actually pretty funny too.
The Flame Hawkfish can be risky to keep with inverts such as shrimp. I know someone who did not have any issues with his shrimp, until he tried adding a Cleaner Shrimp AFTER the Flame Hawkfish was in his tank. The fish left everything else alone and in this case may have confused the new Cleaner Shrimp as food.
| Good Points | Fun to watch, never a dull moment. Safe with corals. |
| Bad Points | May snack on inverts. |
