The cleaner shrimp is an essential invert for any reef tank. These shrimp climb on fish and "clean" them by picking parasites off them. This keeps both your fish and shrimp happy. Cleaner shrimp are very hardy and also do a great job of scavenging for left over food. Like all shrimp, they do molt at times and when they do you may think it died. You will see a ghost-like cleaner shrimp in your tank fully intact but it will only be its outer "shell" so your shrimp will still be alive.
