The Astrea snail is a great little snail. They are relatively cheap, and they do a pretty good job of cleaning. They do not clean as good as the Mexican Turbo snails but they are a fraction of the cost. The biggest downside to these is they cannot right themselves if they flip over. If you see one in your tank that has fallen on the side of its shell, its best to reach in a flip it back over. If you don't do this, they will most likely die because they have no way of correcting themselves. These snails can live a long time in a tank with plenty to eat, so be sure that you do not overstock with snails or they can starve. Its best to start out with 5 or 10 and then go up from there depending on how much they eat.
